The football season in America starts in mid-February and ends in mid-May, corresponding to the wintertime. However, football doesn’t have to end at the end of the summer. As America’s favorite summer pastime, football continues to grow in popularity through out the summer months in a variety of different ways. Most importantly, football now is played professionally on a regular basis, and the large number of professional teams and leagues means that competitive football is now a year-round sport.

Many American children, especially boys, dream of playing football. One of the greatest attractions of playing football is playing with other people, and since it’s a very social game it provides an ideal opportunity for kids to develop friendships across national and cultural lines. Many schools in the US offer football programs in order to provide these students with an extracurricular activity. The skill required to play football is necessary for any position in today’s modern professional environment, as it requires quick decision-making and accurate passing skills.

In addition to being the national sport of football in the US, football is also becoming hugely popular overseas. Football is played professionally in many different countries, including England, Scotland and Australia, and is the most common contact sport in those countries. Even China, which is thought of as one of the easiest countries to be a part of, has football teams. Soccer, also known as “football of Asia,” has spread throughout Asia in a variety of different ways, including tournaments and small-scale competitions. Major League Soccer and the WNFL ( WWE) have begun televised broadcasts of football in Asia.

To play football in America, or anywhere else, takes a great deal of dedication and practice. Many young aspiring American football players dream of becoming professional football players, but finding the time and resources to be able to do so can be challenging. Fortunately, there are many opportunities available through college and junior high schools that give students the chance to play football.
